At the Community Development Foundation (CDF), our mission is driven by compassion, justice, and a deep commitment to human dignity. We work tirelessly to support persecuted minorities, promote interfaith harmony, and ensure justice for victims of discrimination and abuse—especially those affected by Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.
Our approach is both grassroots and strategic, combining direct support for victims with national and international advocacy. Here’s how we make an impact:
1. Legal Aid & Case Support
We provide legal assistance and protection to victims of false accusations—particularly those targeted under blasphemy laws. Our legal team works with trusted human rights lawyers to:
- Ensure fair representation in court
- Fight for bail and acquittals
- Protect individuals and families at risk
- Monitor and document misuse of the law
Notable Work: We played a key role in the Rimsha Masih case, helping to secure her release and safely relocate her family.
2. Emergency Response & Relocation
When individuals or families are at immediate risk due to threats or violence, we act fast. We:
- Help victims relocate to safe housing
- Provide emergency supplies and basic needs
- Work with other NGOs and agencies to support asylum applications where necessary
- Offer trauma counseling and psychosocial support
3. Community Empowerment & Education
CDF believes that lasting change begins with education and empowerment. Through workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns, we:
- Educate communities about their constitutional and human rights
- Promote interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence
- Train youth and women in leadership and advocacy
- Work with local churches and mosques to foster dialogue and tolerance
4. Monitoring & Documentation
We regularly monitor and document cases of religious persecution and human rights abuses involving:
- Minorities (Christians, Hindus, Ahmadis, and others)
- Victims of mob violence or hate speech
- Women and children falsely accused of blasphemy
This data is used to inform local advocacy, influence legal reform, and build international awareness.
5. Advocacy & Policy Engagement
CDF works to influence policy at both the national and international levels. We:
- Meet with government officials, lawmakers, and police leadership
- Advocate for reforms to blasphemy laws and hate crime legislation
- Partner with global human rights organizations and UN bodies
- Participate in forums, conferences, and media to raise awareness
6. Partnerships & Alliances
We build strong relationships with:
- Local NGOs and civil society groups
- Churches, religious institutions, and interfaith councils
- International human rights organizations and diplomatic missions
Together, we amplify our impact and support a shared vision for peace and justice in Pakistan.
